Staging A Bracelet

Its been earrings for all this time and now is the turn for a bracelet to take the stage and get some light. So here is one of the bracelet I own and I repeat wearing it very often. It has an antique look to it and is classy enough to wear it with my work outfit. I usually pair it with a pearl chain necklace when I wear a dark outfit. It balances out the whole look beautifully.

I have a story to share with this one. So I have this habit of going through blog sites which will eventually take me to some e-shopping sites. These sites can be a dud or even a gold mine at times. This bracelet was such  a find from a site called http://www.wholesale-dress.net/. I am sure that many of you would have already known about this site because I see a lot of reviews in various social medias about this site. (Yeah !! I do my research before I do an online purchase. One thing every online shopper must do !!) I heard some good reviews as well as bad. Not new for an online site and I also see that they have been shipping their products from 3 locations: China, Japan, US. Now that's convenient for me when they say that they have a US stock. The other important factor that I have to.. have to.. say is, it took me forever to come up with a final list of products that I wanted to purchase. The site has a huge collection and the price was also very reasonable. So it is easy to get lost on the humongous stock they have. That happened to me. I was piling and piling up my cart with so many items that when I went to check out it was like the biggest shopping I've ever done. Finally my sane mind started to speak so I had to filter my cart twice after that to come to a final list with 11 items in it. One con is, the site charges a huge amount for shipping. Since I shipped it to US, I went for US stock hence reducing the shipping cost considerably. I got 11 items for $22.78 including shipping costs. So the average cost of an item comes to $2.07.
Other thing to consider before placing an order in this site is, the pictures that are posted are for reference purpose only. You may see a little bit of difference when you actually see the product. Most of the products had this statement attached to it when I read through the description of the products. So one has to consider all the risks before placing an order. This is very very important to avoid wasting your money on some random e-shopping sites. Most of the products I bought were accessories and other stuffs. They have a huge collection of clothing as well. It was decent enough but I was not completely convinced to buy them. So just to test I included a blouse in my order. My intuition was right about the dress. The material of the dress I bought looked completely different from what I saw in the picture. I didn't like the blouse at all. Apart from that one product, my overall purchase experience was good. As far as this bracelet, I am very very happy for buying it not just because I like it a lot but also for the price that I paid. I am always a show off when it comes to the question, Guess how much I paid for it? :) See you all pretty soon.

A Maroon Dangler

In my previous jewelry post I said I will be posting more pics of the jewels I got recently. And now when I want to do it,  it actually felt like as if I am posting my whole jewelry collection. I didn't wanted it to be that way. It will become a post having rows of pics in it. I personally have hard time reading such posts and I don't want my readers to have a similar thought. So I decided to post the jewel as and when I wear it. Just like the previous one there will be only 2 pics. One for the actual earring and one with me wearing it.

This is a silver earring with maroon stone on it. I got it from JCPenny. The original price was $18 and I got it on sale for $8. I always had a liking for the variations of the color red. It just adds life to that whole thing. Anything I buy, I have an eye for red color in it. If I go for bag shopping, most probably I'll end up picking a darker shade of red or maroon or a color that is similar to the color in this earring. My husband has to pull me to reality saying that I have way more red items. And I will halfheartedly keep the bag back into the rack. It just happens every time. So there is no wonder in me picking a red earring. This is a simple design that I can wear to work and it suits perfectly to most of my outfits. I guess red has become a nude when it comes to accessories.

And this is how it looks on me. I love the way how it looks simple yet adds a bit of color. I also liked it since it is a silver earring. Of course I cannot forget the ridiculous discount that I got on it. Overall I am contended for buying this piece.

I'll see you all soon in my next post. Take care.

Search For A Clean Wash

A face wash is an essential. As a matter of fact, I had used soaps for the most part of my life as a face wash. Yes yes yes. This might be a shock for some and what's-so-shocking-about-it for some. Like I said, I belonged to the latter for a good portion. However, I've been using just face washes / face cleansers for the past couple of years and it sure did helped me a lot. I don't have a particular reason for changing. I've tried random face washes in my hometown and none of them were working. It made my skin oily and I've never got a squeaky clean feeling. The weather in the place I live now changed my skin texture a lot. It made my skin a combination one. It was good as well as bad. But after facing the oily skin the most part of my life it felt better, at least to me. I've started to try different moisturizers, face wash and so many other things. The first face wash I bought here was from Clean and clear and since then I got hooked to the face wash world. This time my skin was not oily like it use to be in my hometown. That got me inspired and I started to experiment on the face washes. I've tried different brands like clean and clear, Neutrogena, L'Oreal, etc.. Most of them served the purpose and I do see a little bit change after their continuous use.

All the time I've researched about different face washes, this one brand was repeatedly recommended from many good sources. That is Cetaphil. And they added saying it is dermatologically recommended. For some reason, I've been skipping this bottle so long. May be its the other colorful bottles and the wonderful looking liquids with cute little beads on it overwhelmed me that I went for them instead of the boring look and doctor recommended kind. I like to think that its because of me they went for a make over and came up with a little bit better looking one! And this time when I went to the store there was a sale of course! How can I leave the bottle this time? So I went for it.

This cleanser gives me a squeaky clean feeling but didn't dry me out crazily. When I washed with it the first time it felt like I am applying some kind of gel and it didn't foam. So I washed it off with water and reapplied it again. This time it did foamed a little however not like an usual one. I do know that cleansers doesn't foam much except if it is specifically mentioned as foam cleansers. Ignoring that I went for the second wash. It did dried me out a little bit but not a very damaging one for my skin. So it may be very drying for normal/dry skin people.

Other strange thing that happened was, I used this cleanser twice a day regularly for like 2 weeks or so and I noticed dry skin near my smile line and I didn't know which product was causing it. The only product that had ever dried my skin was this one and  I stopped using it for a couple of days and it got better. My guess was right. So on my combination skin it was drying if I use it twice a day everyday. It is working good for those days when I need a quick face wash before I go to bed, however I will not forget to apply my toner and moisturizer on those days. From the lessons learned, if I feel like I need an extra cleanse for my face I will take a little bit extra amount of gel and wash my face only once. And it is enough for a good clean skin. I am using my other face washes as well but I always get back to Cetaphil when I feel like my skin need a complete cleanse.

Will I repurchase? Yes, for Cetaphil. However I will try the sensitive skin line.

Reliving My Forgotten Fancies

I've always had a fancy for collecting jewelries like earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc.. Of course people I am talking about metals apart from GOLD.. Oh god !! Gold is becoming a distant relative to me everyday,  never mind.. ! I've had a decent collection of jewels when I was in India. Almost all of my shopping never ended without an earring or two in my bag. Me and my mom just love to go to those stores where they sell loads of such goodies. The colors, the combinations, the textures, the materials, everything looks just so awesome. Anyways when I had to come to US, I gave up all my fancy jewels to my cousins and relatives and packed only a few things along with me. After being here, buying a jewelry has become an one more thing to do in my list. But recently, I don't know how but I got into jewelry and bought some earrings, bracelets, necklaces etc.. One sure reason I could find is most of them I got were on sale. Shocking !! huh !! :)

I've got this piece of earring from Walmart recently. I got this as a full priced item. It was just $2.88 Here are some pics of it.

I saw this one among a rack full of colored and crazily shaped earrings. This was like an odd man out. I loved the simplicity of it and the next moment it got happily landed on my cart. I will shortly post the pics of other jewels that I bought. See you all pretty soon !!

AVON Moisture Therapy Soothing Oatmeal Hand Cream

So here I am right after my introduction, wanted to start off with a product that I used. Avon Moisture Therapy soothing oatmeal hand cream for dry, itchy skin.

First of all, I have an Avon representative in my office who leaves the campaign books in my office cafe. And I am so regular to pick the first copies of those books, whether I buy or not doesn't matter. So, when the situation was like that, one of the campaign book had an exciting offer which is posted in the back cover of it. That was this cream for $0.99 only. And obviously I gave up and had to put an order for it. And it took me around 2 weeks to get it was another story. Anyways, that's how I got his product.

I've been using this product for quite some time now and I have to say that this cream is now a ritual for me. Everyday I go to office, I switch on my lappa (well that's how my kid refers a laptop, and I got used to it), before the Ctrl+Alt+Delete comes up, run to heat up the milk in the kitchen for my cereal, grab some water, come back to my cube to see the C+A+D. By now, you would have guessed how beaten up my system is :) Anyways, once I am back, I use a generous amount of this cream to soften my dry itchy skin. Here is the before and after pictures.

The before picture shows dry flakes and wrinkly skin which looks not so good. And the after picture had clearly treated my skin in a right way. Skin looks soft and supple. I've been using this product for around 2 months or so. But you see, I still have some dry flakes in my before picture. Well, I had lot more dry skin before. I didn't wanted to ridicule everyone by posting that :) So it definitely had improved my skin. Coming to the quantity, I reapply the cream 2 to 3 times during my work hours. And still a little bit is left in that tube. So that's a good sign too. I have oily skin on my face and it is really hard for me to keep my hands away from my face. Obviously, I don't want to use oily fingers for that. So that's another one I usually look on a hand cream. If you look at the picture, my after skin looks shiny. However I don't feel it like a oily skin.  This cream gets absorbed pretty quickly. The shine doesn't get transferred to other objects. So no marks on my keyboard or mouse, or even on the monitor for the days I go crazy at work :)

I will not say that this product changes your hands so soft that you yourself cannot recognize it. Well, that's never gonna happen right :) I will have to say its a decent product that you can use it without abusing your purse. I mean I've used it for almost 50 days, 2 or 3 times a day and I still have some cream left in there. And it costs less than a dollar.  Not many products in the market do that for such money. To sum it up, I liked this cream and I use it regularly. So I surprised my Avon representative by ordering another tube of the same moisture therapy line. But I wanted to try other variants too, so I opted for vitamin treatment. However, I had to pay $1.99 this time, this one as well on a discount sale. It is very rare for me to buy a full-priced product. And I always feel an itch when I do so :) See you all pretty soon.. Ta ta...

So To Speak...

Hello fellow blogger and all others :) , its really a pleasure to let you know all that I started this blog out of sheer impulsion :) Yeah, I know !! No one else would give such a reason for starting a blog. But here I am :) I've been following so many blogs for the past year and half and it feels so good whenever I see a new post. I've subscribed to different genres of  blogging like women's blogs, authors, photography, interior design, make up, so  on and so forth. Whatever the genre is I will always be excited to see a blog post with something new in there to share. It is such a pleasure to read a post since every one of them have its own uniqueness and everyone wants to share their best. And to get to know their best is so much fun :)

Now I already have a blog here Suganya Jawahar. You may ask, Why do I need yet another one? I just wanted to share things that I do to treat myself in my insanely busy life. And I thought having a separate blog just for that is a good idea. I will share things that I love, I enjoy or anything else for that matter that I feel it as a treat. It can be anything. May be a crazy photo that I took and wanted to talk about it or may be a product that I used and wanted to talk about it or may be a feast that I had filled up myself with :) I mean anything at all that makes me feel special ! So watch out girls and guys :)
